I tend to always gaze at this restaurant from afar when I go to Bondi Westfield because 1. I love sushi, 2. it looks like a nice place and 3. gaze from afar because my boyfriend does not eat sushi. This would have to be his only downfall but ALAS! I got him to accompany me and it was so worth it.

Nice large sushi train in a very clean restaurant with the option to sit at a normal table as well. Lots of staff who were very helpful and lots of options to choose from on the train or menu. Ryu was also reasonably priced as most trains are.

I recently had a meal here for the first time.

I ordered a few items from the menu, and although the food and drink arrived promptly, I found the service to be quite brusque and the food to be extremely lacking in taste!

For what I ordered, the bill was very expensive, and I am not sure that I would return to eat here again in a hurry - a shame, because in general I do actually like sushi and other Japanese foods!

We were looking for a lunch place at the Westfield. I'm not usually in Bondi, so when I saw this I said let's goooo because Japanese food is always a win, right? Right?!

We were able to get seated promptly (arrived just before the lunchtime rush), so that was good. The place is nicely fitted out so had high hopes.

    We ordered:
    - spider roll (I think) - soft shelled crab. This was all right, but I was blown away by how big it was. We overestimated the size!
    - katsudon - this was disappointing. It was a big serving, but the pork was dry dry dry
    - okonomiyaki - So, we ordered this, but by the time this arrived we were asking to have it removed because it had taken so long so we had finished our meals! They wouldn't take it back and insisted we pay for it. Ugh

If you're not too picky about your Japanese food and go for quantity, this isn't a bad option I guess. Maybe go for the sushi instead and don't get the okonomiyaki unless you're prepared to wait aaaagessss.

I think this place does nice sushi but there is nothing amazing about it. Located in the Westfield underneath the cinema, this place may make for a convenient bite before going to the movies. You can either sit in front of the sushi moving on the train and self serve or a sit down on a more private table and order from a waiter. The sushi plates range from $3 - $8 a plate. Usually you pick what you would like and the colour of the plate determines the price. For example all yellow plates are $3 each the red plates are $4 each etc.

    You know what, it's okay.

It's not the cheapest, the most delicious or even particularly popular sushi. But it's pretty okay.

They have a train as well as sit down a la carte which something I have never done at a sushi place with a train. Seriously, why would you? THERE'S A TRAIN.

All of the staff are lovely, and I think it's a pretty nice looking place. As it is located at the top of Westfields, it's a good option for a quick bite either side of catching a movie.
